We are very lucky here in Brisbane with the perfect weather for enjoying the outdoors, and plenty of impressive scenery too! So eating outdoors for us Brisbanites seems to come pretty naturally, but sometimes eating outdoors will come at the expense of a little luxury or a touch of class. That’s why we think that The Vintage Picnic Company is on to a real winning formula with their fantastic picnic arrangements that just ooze taste – both in the food and the setup!
We enjoyed a beautiful picnic brunch at Captain Burke Park – one of our favourite parks here in Brisbane. Set right on the banks of the river, directly under the very impressive Storey Bridge, this park has a great little playground, heaps of trees and lovely lawns to run around on. Our picnic was set up in the shade (with plenty of consideration for the changing shadows) and it was fantastically and tastefully presented with thick rugs, comfy cushions and vintage accessories – it looked absolutely beautiful! Brunch was from a selection of sweet and savoury in both adults and kids serving sizes and lots of fresh fruit, which as expected was very yummy! Also provided were some fun lawn games – quoits and boules – perfect for a family picnic.
Picnics are often a secondary thought for us for when we are out and about exploring, but after our experience with The Vintage Picnic Company we might just have to change our thinking on that - it was such a lovely morning out! Absolutely everything was taken care of, all we had to do was turn up and enjoy! They can cater for any occasion and from 2 – 200 guests, in all locations here in Brisbane, Gold and Sunshine Coasts and Hinterlands. Everything is so wonderfully tasteful, inviting and best of all, relaxing. Picnicking is definitely an experience that will be a more common occurrence in our family now!
