Where is it: Fort Lytton National Park, Lytton Road & South Street, Lytton
What's it all about: History throughout the ages told through re-enactments, displays and memorabilia!
How can I join in: Head along as a spectator or get in touch with the History Alive team to get involved in the event as a volunteer or contributor!
Tell me more: This is an amazingly fun event! In just a few hours in the one location you can see everything from roman gladiators and vikings, through to World War II battle re-enactments and tanks! It's not all about warfare and battles (however this theme is certainly prevalent!) as there are vintage vehicles, olden day games and typical village layouts! It's set on the grounds of Fort Lytton which is worth visiting in it's own right. This heritage listed area contains many buildings and structures established as protection for Brisbane from enemy invaders and also contains an old quarantine station for immigrants! There are events scheduled across the weekend and you are free to wander around as you wish. The cannons are fired off at a few different times over the two days and are definitely worth checking out - if you don't get to see them, you will definitely hear them! You will have a really good time visiting History Alive - it's certainly a highlight event! :
