Where is it: Teralba Park, Everton Park
What's it all about: A day to get together as a community and of course find some Easter eggs!
How can I join in: It's all free so get down to the park early and enjoy the fun events put on for the community!
Tell me more: This is another one of the many awesome and free community events put on by local business and government representatives. This event ticks two boxes - Easter and Neighbour Day! Heaps of fun activities for all the family (but mainly for the little guys!) and lots of great community spirit! Egg and spoon races, sack races, tug of war, prizes and heaps more! But there's no doubt about the main attraction - two attractions actually - the arrival of the Easter Bunny and the Easter egg hunt! The Easter Bunny arrives in style - in a Police car complete with sirens - and the arrival of the Easter Bunny signifies the start of the egg hunt - a fun hunt through the playground and hedge maze of this great park, split between little kids and big kids and there's hundreds of chocolate eggs to find!
Where is it: Wynnum Plaza, 2021 Wynnum Rd, Wynnum
What's it all about: A bit of craft, some lunch and an Easter egg hunt through the shopping centre! Which little kids wouldn't love to get involved in this!
How can I join in: Booking are essential and it's bound to be popular so get in early and book your spot!
Tell me more: We have been really spoiled for choice this year for Easter activities with the kids! So many fun things to do in so many different places - we think that the difficulty for the organisations putting these on is to do something a little bit different so that they stand out. This one is certainly up there as one of our favourites! A little bit of Easter craft - making our own fabulous Easter bonnets! Followed by a quick lunch from Donut King and then straight into an Easter egg hunt through the shopping centre! A really fun event and the limited numbers makes a big difference!
Where is it: Redbank Plaza, Collingwood Drive, Redbank
What's it all about: Go behind the scenes and see how these wonderful Easter treats are made!
How can I join in: It's on the week leading up to Easter and it's free - make you booking and head along!
Tell me more: This was a really fun event for the little guys! We all got to head along to the other side of the counter at the Coles Bakery and see how hot cross buns are made! The kids got their special baking clothes and prepared to get their hands messy! We got help out making the dough, shaping the buns and of course the main part of any hot cross bun - making the cross! And as much fun as this was, it wasn't the best part of our day - the best part was that we got to keep our hot cross buns! Yummy!
Where is it: Brennan Park, Bongaree, Bribie Island
What's it all about: It's a fun and free scavenger hunt-style Easter egg hunt put on by Moreton Bay Regional Council!
How can I join in: No need to book or register - just head on down to the park and pick up your Easter egg hunting card!
Tell me more: There are so many Easter egg hunt events on around Brisbane in the lead up to Easter that it's hard to decide which one to head along to! We love this one at Bongaree because it's well organised, everyone gets a good little supply of Easter eggs and it's easy - just find the printed eggs hidden throughout the park and match them on your card! It's great because the you can see that the little kids get really excited as they find the eggs! There is a fundraising barbeque breakfast available, a jumping castle and the Easter bunny also pays a visit! And all of this happens right by the beach - a really fun morning out!
Where is it: Suttons Beach, Redcliffe
What's it all about: A dual purpose festival - partly to celebrate Easter, and partly to celebrate the passing of the yachts as they commence the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race!
How can I join in: It's free (some paid events)! So head along (parking is at a premium, so consider your options) at any time throughout the day and prepare to have fun!
Tell me more: Every Good Friday, Redcliffe and the Moreton Bay Region puts on an amazing free and fun event in the Festival of Sails! This beach is a lovely place to visit at Easter time, so to hold a festival here as well means that there's no end of fun things to see and do! Heaps of market stalls, games on the beach for the kids, amusement park rides, live music and heaps more! The highlight (for us, at least!) is the skydiving Easter Bunny! There are heaps of food options as well and as expected there are Easter Egg hunts on all day! There are even watersports activities - paddleboarding and peddle boats. Wow! So much to do. This is one of the few events that we can actually burn up all the energy in our boys. Highly recommended!
