Where is it: Rocks Riverside Park, Seventeen Mile Rocks
What's it all about: This amazing tradition of colours which you are able to experience right here in Brisbane!
Tell me more: Part of the BrisAsia Festival, this vibrant festival is one of our favourite experiences! It's such an important celebration throughout South East Asia, the most distinguishable feature of this event is the throwing of brightly coloured powder and water over everyone! As you can imagine, the kids absolutely love this! But it's more just throwing colour - live music and DJs, traditional dancing and of course a super fun atmosphere make this one of our favourite events!
Where is it: 5 Counihan Rd, Seventeen Mile Rocks
Why we love it: So much more than your average suburban park, Rocks Riverside has something for everyone!
Tell me more: This is a really nice, shady and relaxing park adjacent to the southern bank of the Brisbane River, just near the Centenary Highway bridge, about 25 minutes' drive from the CBD. There is plenty of grassy parkland for a run around, lots shady trees for a picnic or barbeque, a beautiful riverside promenade and it even has free wi-fi! But the kids will be most interested in the playground features, and this park does not disappoint in this regard either! There is your typical, traditional playground set - great for the little guys with climbing and slides; there is also climbing net, fort and flying fox which is better suited for those kids with a bit more confidence, but best of all (particularly in the warmer months), there is a really cool and shaded water play area for the little guys to have a splash in! So much fun and it's well worth a visit!
Amenities: Recently rebuilt, this park has really great amenities! 👍👍👍
Parking: Looks to be plenty of parking but as with all of our water-play parks - expect it to be busy in during the warmer days! 👍👍👍
Access: The park is well laid out and easy to get around! 👍👍👍👍
Best for: This is a great summer visit park! Fun for everyone! 👍👍👍👍
Summary: A great park and perfect for a visit at any time! 👍👍👍👍
Hints: Don't forget your togs - the kids will have a hard time resisting the water play area!
