Where is it: Milton, adjacent to Milton Road
What's it all about: A super fun park at the spiritual home of tennis in the inner west of Brisbane!
Tell me more: Brisbane is home to some exceptional public parks which are great for families, and Frew Park in Milton is one of the better ones! Built on the site of the former Queensland Tennis Centre, this park has a sealed carpark (expect it to be busy on the weekends), a large lawn area, tennis courts, café, bbq areas and an amazing playground! It also has a designated booking site which might be an idea for your birthday party or function. But the main attraction (for us at least) is the fantastic playground! Lots of concrete, steel, ramps, climbing, slides and nets - it's not your ordinary playground and kids absolutely love it!
Amenities: Full public facilities, and cafes available at times! 👍👍👍👍
Parking: Limited free parking! 👍👍
Access: Very good access around the facility! 👍👍👍👍
Best for: Everyone! 👍👍👍👍
Summary: A different but exceptionally fun playground that is a must see for Brisbane’s park users! 👍👍👍👍
Hints: Be prepared to stay for a while – you will have trouble dragging the kids away from this!
Where is it: Kalinga St, Clayfield QLD 4011
Why we love it: A really big park, heaps of shade and an awesome playground!
Tell me more: Kalinga Park is really nice park in the northern suburbs of Brisbane. Only 20 minutes’ drive from the city, this park has so much space to run around in and has a really great fort-style playground that will keep the kids entertained for ages! Make sure that you pack your picnic rug so once you are done with the playground you can relax a little on the lawns, or even go exploring by Kedron Brook which runs through the park! There's heaps of shade, barbeques and tables (and wi-fi) on offer too, so there's no problem making a day of it at Kalinga Park!
Amenities: A very well appointed park! 👍👍👍
Parking: Plenty of parking available! 👍👍👍
Access: Very easy to get around with lots of pathways throughout! 👍👍👍👍
Best for: Kids will love the playground and open spaces, parents will love the tranquillity and room to move! 👍👍👍👍
Summary: A really nice park with heaps of space (and shade!) and a great playground. Having a creek running through the park is an added bonus! 👍👍👍👍
Hints: Take some bread so that you can feed the ducks down by the creek!
