Where is it: 40 Hayward St, Paddington
Why we love it: What could be better than a real haunted house on Halloween!
Tell me more: Explore a real haunted house for Halloween! And it's not just the house, the neighbours join in on the action too! The house is just a little bit spooky - so it's great for kids of all ages, and we're sure that some of the parents might enjoy it as well! And once you're finished you can head out trick or treating around the street - participating houses are decorated with balloons so you know that you will score some treats! So much spooky fun!
Where is it: Blackwood Street, Mitchelton
What's it all about: A great little Halloween festival put on with the support of the Blackwood St vendors and elected representatives!
How can I join in: A free event to attend (some rides and activities have a cost), so bring your trick or treat basket and don your best costume and head along to Blackwood St to get involved!
Tell me more: Blackwood Street Halloween Festival is heaps of fun for the little kids! It's a great chance for them to dress up in their best Halloween costume and score some easy trick or treat lollies with plenty of organised trick or treat stalls! Add to that heaps of rides, activities, marching bands, costume parade, competitions and games - plus a wide range of food and drink options and it's a great recipe for Halloween fun! The street gets closed to traffic so that the undead can wander around, but it's very easy to get to if you are on the Ferny Grove train line - the activities start right in Mitchelton Station's carpark! We attended with a couple of little zombies and a little Cabbage Patch kid (still in the box!), who all gave this festival a thumbs up!
Where is it: At shopping centres and large stores everywhere!
Why we love it: Trick or treat in a simple and safe environment and guaranteed treats!
Tell me more: We love taking the kids out trick or treating at Halloween - it's always lots of fun dressing up and it's great to meet up with the other families out doing the same thing! But going out for the first time might seem a little daunting for the little guys, which is why we think that trick or treating in stores and shopping centres is a great way to introduce the little guys to Halloween fun! There are plenty of stores that have events on for Halloween and they all generally follow a similar format - a set path to follow through the store, often with a guide in costume as well, to participating shops where you are guaranteed to score some treats! And there are always lots of other kids to have fun with! So much fun!

Why we love it: A great way to make such an awesomely interesting place just a little more interesting!
Tell me more:
We love visiting the Queensland museum, so if there's an opportunity to make a special visit after hours we just had to go along! Held at various times throughout the year (including one of our favourite times of the year, Halloween!) - the museum opens its doors to a limited number of patrons to go on a guided tour through the museum, including special themes, exhibitions and added extras! It's always a fun place to visit, so with a little more to entertain, amaze and educate us it ends up being an incredible experience! You need tickets for these nights, so head along to the Queensland Museum to find out when their next night at the museum is being held, get your tickets and enjoy!
A Night at the Museum Halloween 2017
Where is it: Cambridge Parade, Manly
What's it all about: Possibly the biggest Halloween party in Australia, this free annual event sees Manly taken over by thousands of costumed party-goers and is scary fun for the whole family!
How can I join in: Make sure that you've got scariest costumes on and head along to experience an awesome day of Halloween fun! Even pets can get into the spirit!
Tell me more: The main street of Manly is shut down and taken over by all sorts of scary characters for this really fun event - one of Brisbane's most well-known and certainly one of the scariest! Lots of entertainment - rides, stage and roaming performers, market stalls, competitions and more monsters, zombies, ghosts and ghouls that you can poke a stick at! The highlight of the event is most definitely the street parade, where anyone in costume can join in and parade down the street! There's even specially created Halloween themed cars! And of course it wouldn't be Halloween without a little trick or treating - there's plenty of opportunity for the little guys to try and scare a few treats out! We have always had heaps of fun at this party!
