Where is it: In the centre of Brisbane – 25 August 2019 – registrations are open now!
Why we love it: A wonderful fun run for the whole family and a fantastic way to see some magnificent parts of Brisbane!
Tell me more: There are some truly Brisbane experiences in this great city of ours that every resident (and a whole lot of visitors) really should take part in – and this is one of the most iconic! For 23 years the Bridge to Brisbane fun run has been eagerly anticipated by many here in the city.
We went along for the launch of the Bridge to Brisbane (early bird registrations are now open) at Captain Burke Park - the starting point for the 5km run - and even four months out, the excitement is already starting to build! We enjoyed a lovely brunch from Miss Bliss Catering, received some fantastic training tips from the guys at Anytime Fitness and mingled with some other prospective runners - from current Olympians through to novices like ourselves! And that is the best thing about this wonderful race - it really is a 'fun' run and anyone and everyone joins in!
Just like the Brisbane River, the Bridge to Brisbane snakes its way through the city over either 10 or 5 kilometres and takes in some of the highlights of the inner city, starting from Roma St, the CBD, the Story Bridge and finishing at South Bank. It’s a fun run for all ages and abilities and not only is it a fantastic experience, it also raises much needed funds for a range of charities!
