Where is it: King George Square, Brisbane
What's it all about: A celebration of Scottish culture here in Brisbane!
Tell me more: With so many Australians being able to trace their roots back to Scotland, this was bound to be a popular event! Following the international traditions of Tartan Day, the event was centered around one of the more recognisable pieces of Scottish culture - music, and in particular the bagpipes! Heaps of great music from pipe bands as well as highland dancing, traditional foods (like haggis, black pudding and tablet - yum!), market stalls where you can pick up a kilt and also the opportunity to do a little research on your ancestors! A fun little festival with great music, dancing and food!
