Where is it: Spring Hill Reservoir
Why we love it: Walk through an amazing piece of artwork in an amazing, heritage listed structure!
Tell me more: The Spring Hill Reservoirs are a couple of amazing structures in Brisbane’s central business district that generally sit unnoticed for the most part. Recently they have been opened to host special events such as concerts as their structure provides a wonderful ambiance for sound – and as we’ve just found out, a semi-buried concrete reservoir with no windows also provides an amazing ambiance for light! The Weight of Light by Meagan Streader is an awesome art exhibition which sees neon light rope specially placed throughout the reservoir structure. The lights, against the dark interior of the reservoir combine to create an amazing spectacle where it is hard to tell if spaces exist or not! It’s a lovely exhibition and a wonderful way to experience these heritage listed buildings!
