Where is it: The Historic Rivermill precinct – in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland at 950 Beaudesert Nerang Road, Mount Nathan
What’s it all about: A unique opportunity to have a close-up experience with some beautiful Peruvian Horses.
Tell me more: It’s so wonderful to see the look of amazement on the faces of the kids when they are up close to animals, especially animals as impressive as this! We had a lovely experience with some fantastic Peruvian Horse which are known for their smooth gait (or running style). We got to see how they are kept, how they are trained, groomed, and even took them for a little walk. And of course, lots of time for patting them too. These magnificent animals can trace their roots directly to Peru and it was lovely to be able to get up close and personal – it was an experience that the whole family enjoyed!
Gold Coast's Gaited Horses Rivermill is situated at the lovely Historic Rivermill precinct with its amazingly tranquil setting, with a lovely café overlooking a beautiful section of the Coomera River. Filled with heaps of freshwater turtles, fish and eels, this was another fun animal encounter for the kids as the turtles love to be fed! Also on the farm are alpacas, deer and a pig which rounded off an amazing day out!
